The founders of Berlin’s iconic restaurant KANAAN – Israeli entrepreneur Oz Ben David and Palestinian Arab Jalil Dabit – have captured their vision of cross-cultural togetherness between two covers. With contributions from many others whose stories, recipes and traditions flow through its pages, this cookbook brings the rich diversity of Levantine cuisine to the place where encounters naturally happen every day: our dining table.
Our three podcast hosts Maike, Kübra and Rebecca know better than most why these encounters matter. For more than four years, they have been leading inspiring conversations in the House of One podcast 331 – 3 Women, 3 Religions, 1 Topic. These conversations belong at the table – and shared rituals such as cooking make them even more meaningful. As the cookbook now shows, the three women developed, tested and contributed two delicious dishes on behalf of the House of One. “Noah’s Stew” and “King David’s Lentil Pancakes” stand as proof that friendship across all borders is possible – and that the more diverse the ingredients, the better it tastes.

The book “Cooking Without Borders” is published by Penguin and available here (click!).
