Christmas is, for Christians, a celebration that places hope, peace and the vision of respectful coexistence at its centre. Its message invites us to reach beyond boundaries and come together in community, regardless of religious tradition or cultural background.
This year, too, the House of One opens its doors wide. The multireligious hospitality of the Christmas Vespers is meant to make tangible what connects us: the longing for peace, the appreciation of human dignity – and the shared hope for a good year ahead.
The service, led by Pastor Alexander Arno Heck, will take place on 24 December 2025 at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church (St. Marienkirche) on Berlin’s Alexanderplatz.
Participants include Rabbi Andreas Nachama, Pastor Marion Gardei, Pastor Michael Kösling and Imam Osman Örs.
Music will be provided by Kilian Neuhaus on the organ and the Marien Vocal Quartet, directed by St. Mary’s cantor Marie-Louise Schneider.
Everyone is warmly invited – whatever their religion or worldview. Coming together, pausing, breathing freely: this is what the Christmas Vespers stands for in 2025 as well.
